First Full Day and Off to Disneyland

Good night's sleep after the long day and flight yesterday. Quick breakfast at the hotel and then to the park. Started in Disney California Adventure and put Jenny in the line to get us fast passes for Radiator Springs ride. Boy are we glad that we got them as the queue later was taking 90 minutes. Ride was great and Philip had to hold on to his Jack Sparrow hat! He wanted to buy one at Disneyland in Tokyo but saved money so today he splurged. Loved Soaring over California ride (twice), Bugs' Life 3D show, thought about California Screaming roller coaster and then thought NO, went on the big Mickey Ferris wheel and you guessed it suffered a technical glitch while we were near the top so had a good view of the park for a little while!
Lunch in the New Orleans section of Adventureland and then the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. That's what inspired Philip to buy the hat, Disney Pirate's Lanyard and some collector pins. Everyone needs to be a kid at Disneyland. We were proud to wear our special Disneyland "I'm Celebrating Retirement" Badges as well. Lots of jealous park crew including some older than us!
Fabulous Christmas themed parade this evening (have posted a short video on Facebook), followed by a light show on Sleeping Beauty's castle with artificial snow in Main Street and then a truly magnificent fireworks display.
