I have removed the two posts which contained our driving maps and you will now find them on the right hand side of the blog home page under Driving Maps. There is also a link added for Jessica's blog and also the ability to add your email address to receive updates to the blog. Alison and I hope that you will be able to join us on our travels through the avenue of the blog and that you won't be too jealous!

Back from the pre-holiday holiday in the caravan at Caloundra. Now the last minute finishing jobs at home need to be done and the final packing and choice of the right clothes begins in earnest.

Getting Serious about Packing

Now things are really getting serious as we start to pick the items to go with us and weigh each piece of clothing and add it to spreadsheet. Travel scales are very handy. Now will I pack another pari of jeans and how many knitted scarves are really necessary. How cold do you think it will be in Chicago?

Making the Luggage Lighter

Yesterday in an endeavour to ensure our luggage is not too heavy we splashed out and upgraded Alison from an original iPad to the New iPad. This has resulted in a weight aving of 270gm. Now I am not sure that the expense involved was worth it - excess baggage is a little cheaper. But what the heck Alison is happier and now she can use Facetime. :)

The Day Draws Closer

Yesterday Jessica and Philip purchased matching handbags to carry on the plane. Suppose Philip's should be called a "manbag". Also looked at RFID protective wallets. Now the suitcases are open and the first items have been put in. Don't think that Patch has cottoned on yet to the portents of this! Electronic visas for USA approved.
